Pits near the lake
Gravel pits and a quarry on both sides of the lake
Smokey Point Pit, a sand and gravel operation the Mine Safety and Health Administration lists 7.9 miles north-east of Lake Goodwin, is the closest aggregate site to the lake. Dump trucks and end-dump tractors that load there tend to come home to driveways and side lots near the water at night. If yours is parked at the house, give us the street address and tell us how wide the gate is so a tow truck can reach it.
To the west, a crushed-stone quarry called Rock Plant sits 9.4 miles from the lake according to Mine Safety and Health Administration records, and Getchell Pit is another sand and gravel operation 12.5 miles east on the same agency’s list. A truck that splits its week between those sites may be sitting at either one when you decide to sell. Ask the site operator whether we can enter to collect it, and send us the name of the person who controls the yard.
For a gravel or stone hauler, have the title in hand along with the current registration, and take photos of the box, the hoist, the tag axle if it has one, and the cab. The VIN plate and the odometer reading are the two details we ask for first.
Arlington sidings
Arlington Yard and the rail line east of town
The North American Rail Network, kept by the Federal Railroad Administration and the Bureau of Transportation Statistics, places two entries, ARLINGTON YARD and ARLINGTON, 7.9 miles east of Lake Goodwin. Tractors that shuttle freight to and from rail sidings around Arlington are among the trucks we collect from this corner of the county.
If your tractor worked transload runs out of Arlington, tell us whether it pulled flatbeds, vans or bulk trailers, and whether any trailer is part of the sale. A tractor sold on its own and one sold with its trailer are separate items on the paperwork, so list each VIN.
Everett’s harbour, eleven miles south
Everett is listed as a strategic seaport by the Bureau of Transportation Statistics, 11.3 miles south of Lake Goodwin. Day cabs that drayed containers or breakbulk cargo off the Everett waterfront are trucks we buy, and many of them are kept closer to home than the harbour.
Should the truck still be inside a terminal or a leased lot near the Everett docks, it does not need to be moved up to the lake before you sell. Tell us which lot holds it and who issues gate passes there, and we will arrange the pickup at that spot.
Fenced installations
Hauling near Marysville and Jim Creek
Two military installations appear on Bureau of Transportation Statistics maps near the lake: one listed as Marysville WA, 4.9 miles east, and Jim Creek, 16.8 miles east. Box trucks, flatbeds and tractors that served sites like these are trucks we buy, wherever around the lake they are kept now.
A truck stored behind a secured fence needs an escort or a pass before anyone can reach it. If that is where yours is, name the contact who can let a driver in, and have any access paperwork ready before the collection is booked.
Milk tankers and stock trucks on Snohomish farms
Snohomish County had 1,418 farms in USDA’s 2022 Census of Agriculture, and its top three products in that count were milk, cattle and corn. Milk haulers, livestock trucks and grain or silage trucks all work this farmland, and many of them sit in a barnyard rather than a fleet yard between seasons.
When a farm truck is the one you want to sell, check that the title is in the name of whoever signs it over; on family farms it is often a parent’s or the farm’s name. Photos of the tank, the stock box or the grain bed help us identify the build, and service records belong with the truck if you have kept them.
Washington’s clean truck rules for heavy vehicles
Washington’s Department of Ecology lists enforcement of the Advanced Clean Trucks rule, as adopted in the state’s Clean Vehicles Program, as paused, and the same agency marks the Heavy-Duty Low NOx Omnibus standards under WAC 173-423-081 as paused too. Ecology’s revised guidance covering Advanced Clean Trucks and the Low NOx Omnibus remains in force while those pauses stand.
None of that stops you from selling a diesel truck registered around Lake Goodwin. Have the Washington title and the current registration together, and if a title has gone missing, start the replacement with the state before we collect, so the transfer has a document to go with it.
The questions we get asked in Lake Goodwin
- My tractor hauled containers out of Everett. Must it come home to Lake Goodwin before I sell it?Everett’s strategic seaport sits 11.3 miles south of the lake by the Bureau of Transportation Statistics’ measure, and we can pick the tractor up wherever it is parked there. Tell us the lot and who signs gate passes.
- Would you take a Snohomish County milk tanker off my dairy?Milk led the county’s farm products in USDA’s 2022 Census of Agriculture, across 1,418 farms, and milk tankers are trucks we purchase. Send photos of the tank and the cab, the VIN, and the title holder’s name.
- With Ecology pausing the clean truck rules, can a Lake Goodwin diesel tractor still be sold?Washington’s Department of Ecology lists enforcement of both the Advanced Clean Trucks rule and the Heavy-Duty Low NOx Omnibus standards as paused. You can sell a diesel tractor as it stands; have the title and registration ready.
