Lakeside job sites
Building trades on Lake Holm’s payrolls
Of the 456 jobs the Census Bureau’s LEHD job counts (LODES) located in Lake Holm for 2023, building and construction work filled 176, a 38.6 percent share.
Transportation and warehousing accounted for another 54 of those 456 jobs, 11.8 percent of the total, in the same 2023 LEHD release from the Census Bureau. Owner-operators and small haulers who kept a tractor or box truck at home in Lake Holm can sell it from the driveway; give us the street address, the VIN and a phone number for whoever holds the keys.
Many construction trucks here carry equipment that is easy to miss in a listing: a plow mount, a pup hitch, a tarp system. Photograph each one and note it in your message, so the description we work from covers the whole rig and not only the chassis.
Gravel pits east and south of the lake
Franklin Ridge Sand & Gravel lies 7.9 miles east of Lake Holm, and Sumner Pit And Plant sits 8.2 miles to the south-west, both on the Mine Safety and Health Administration’s list of sand and gravel operations. A truck that hauled aggregate out of either pit may still be parked at the plant; tell us the site name and who can let us through the gate.
Thunder Mountain Quarry, 9 miles south-east, and the site listed as Portable 1, 11 miles east, appear in Mine Safety and Health Administration records as crushed-stone quarries. Side dumps, end dumps and belly dumps that worked those faces are trucks we buy. Send pictures of the box, the hoist and the hitch along with the cab.
If you kept scale tickets, load logs or service invoices from the quarry years, put them with the truck. They give us the working history of a quarry truck in one place, and if you never kept them, describing the routes it ran is enough to start.
Auburn’s yards, five miles west
The North American Rail Network, kept by the Federal Railroad Administration and the Bureau of Transportation Statistics, lists two rail yard entries, Auburn and Auburn Yard, 4.9 miles west of Lake Holm. Day cabs that shuttle freight between those tracks and nearby warehouses are part of what we collect, and the yard lot is a fine place for us to meet the truck.
Before we come out to Auburn, confirm the truck can be reached without moving other equipment, and leave the keys with someone on site. A clear photo of the VIN plate and the odometer saves a second trip to read them.
Quality Transload and the Renton WA terminal
Quality Transload Inc, a liquid bulk terminal 9.6 miles north-west, is on the Bureau of Transportation Statistics’ terminal list. Tankers and the tractors assigned to them that loaded at a transload site like this one are welcome; tell us what product the tank last held and whether it has been washed out since.
To the north-west, 11.4 miles from Lake Holm, the Energy Information Administration records a petroleum product terminal under the name Renton WA. If your fuel tanker carries hazmat placards or tank test paperwork, keep those documents with the title so they travel with the truck when it changes hands.
Milk tankers and livestock haulers near Lake Holm
King County held 1,604 farms in USDA’s 2022 Census of Agriculture, led by milk, then cattle, then foliage plants.
Farm trucks often sit for a season between jobs. Tell us where on the property the truck is parked, whether the ground is soft in wet weather, and who holds the title, so the pickup is planned around the farm’s own schedule.
Title, registration and the state rules
A lost title for a truck kept in Lake Holm is replaced through the state’s title agency in Washington, and a duplicate in your name is what we need before collection. If a lender is still listed, have the lien release ready too.
Washington’s Clean Vehicles Program adopted California’s Advanced Clean Trucks rule and the Heavy-Duty Low NOx Omnibus standards, and the state’s own guidance update lists enforcement of both as paused. That guidance update itself is in force, and none of it stops you selling a truck you already own in King County.
