FMCSA’s carrier census shows 44 active motor carriers based in Liberty Lake, and 34 of them run private fleets that move their own goods rather than hauling for hire. If your truck belonged to a business like that, the registration is likely in the company name, so have whoever signs for the company ready to sign the title over.
Of those 44 carriers, 27 hold interstate authority and 17 stay within Washington, according to the same FMCSA census. If your tractor ran interstate, keep its cab card and registration with the title so both travel with the truck.
Sixteen local carriers list general freight as cargo in FMCSA’s carrier census, seven list machinery and large objects, six haul garbage and refuse, and five carry refrigerated food. A reefer unit, a refuse packer or a lowboy setup is something we collect, so tell us the body or trailer type when you first get in touch.
Small operators and a few mid-sized fleets
Drivers at Liberty Lake carriers split 102 working within 100 miles of base and 64 going farther, in FMCSA’s carrier census. If your truck finishes its local runs at a lot in Liberty Lake, name that lot and who holds its keys when you reach out.
The carrier census from FMCSA lists one local fleet with 26 power units and 16 drivers, another with 13 power units and 20 drivers, and a third with 11 of each. If you are selling several units from a fleet that size, send a list of VINs with the unit numbers you use, so each title matches the right truck.
Across 18 Liberty Lake carriers reporting mileage to FMCSA, the median works out to 12,154 miles per truck in a year. Write the current odometer reading down before you call; it is one of the first things we ask along with the VIN.
Across 59 Liberty Lake carrier trucks pulled over from October 2024 through August 2026, the middle model year on FMCSA roadside inspection records lands at 2017. Have the model year, engine make and transmission type to hand, since they let us identify the truck before anyone sees it.
Just over a third of those 59 trucks, 33.9 percent, carried a model year a decade or more back, per the same FMCSA roadside inspection records. Whatever the year on your title, send clear photos of the cab, the frame rails, the tires and the data plate on the door jamb.
Rail, fuel and gravel west along the valley
The North American Rail Network, kept by the Federal Railroad Administration and the Bureau of Transportation Statistics, places two Spokane Ind Park rail yards 3.6 and 3.7 miles west of town. If your truck shuttles loads to those sidings and is parked at a shipper’s dock, ask the site who can let a collection driver in.
About 3.6 miles west, the Energy Information Administration lists the Spokane Valley petroleum product terminal, and a second terminal, Spokane WA, sits 10 miles out. A fuel tanker that loaded at either rack should come with its tank inspection and test records alongside the title.
The Mine Safety and Health Administration lists the Sullivan Road Facility, a sand and gravel operation 4.3 miles west, and Wash Plant #1 about 19.8 miles out. Dump trucks and belly-dump tractors from those pits are among the trucks we buy; note the bed or trailer type and the axle setup when you contact us.
Plant floors, warehouses and Liberty Lake contractors
The Census Bureau’s LEHD job counts record 9,805 jobs in Liberty Lake in 2023, with 1,521 of them in manufacturing, or 15.5 percent. Straight trucks and tractors serving plants here are often owned by the manufacturer itself, so check that the name on the title matches the business selling it.
Wholesale trade held 761 jobs, or 7.8 percent, and construction held 227, or 2.3 percent, in LEHD’s 2023 job counts from the Census Bureau. Liberty Lake holds 41 construction businesses on the Census Bureau’s County Business Patterns tally. A contractor’s flatbed or dump truck can be collected from a job site as long as someone there knows it is going.
Grain fields and cattle ground around Liberty Lake
Spokane County has 2,386 farms in USDA’s 2022 Census of Agriculture, with wheat, cattle and horses listed as the top products. A grain truck or livestock hauler stored on a farm outside Liberty Lake can be picked up where it sits; send the road address and say whether the field access is gravel.
Keep the farm truck’s current registration together with its title. If the title has gone missing, Washington’s state title agency issues duplicates, and the replacement should be in hand before the truck is collected.
Ecology’s paused emission rules for heavy trucks
Washington’s Department of Ecology lists enforcement of the Advanced Clean Trucks rule, adopted under the state’s Clean Vehicles Program, as paused. Ecology’s same notice lists the Heavy-Duty Low NOx Omnibus emission standards as paused too, while its updated guidance on those rules is in force.
Sellers do not need to settle any of this before calling us. Keep the emissions label under the hood readable in your photos, and include the engine family number if you can find it.
The questions we get asked in Liberty Lake
- Can my tractor stay at its spot by the Spokane Ind Park rail sidings while you collect it?Those rail yards sit 3.6 to 3.7 miles west of Liberty Lake on the North American Rail Network, and we collect from there. Name the person who unlocks that siding lot and we will set the pickup with them.
- Will you take the refuse packer I ran on Liberty Lake garbage routes?Six Liberty Lake carriers list garbage and refuse as cargo in FMCSA’s carrier census, and packer trucks like theirs are on our list. Send the chassis VIN and the body maker’s plate details.
- Who issues a duplicate title for a Spokane County grain truck whose paperwork went missing?A Spokane County owner applies to Washington’s state title agency for a duplicate title. Start that application first, and tell us the replacement is on its way when you contact us.
- Will a driver come out to the Sullivan Road pit for the dump truck I keep there? The Mine Safety and Health Administration lists the Sullivan Road Facility 4.3 miles west of town, and a truck parked there can be collected on site. Check the site’s visitor rules and give us a contact who can sign the driver in.
