Pits past the bridge road
Two gravel pits up the Shine road
Two sand and gravel operations, the Shine Facility at 5.9 miles and New Shine Quarry at 6.1 miles, both lie north-west of Lofall in the Mine Safety and Health Administration’s mine listings. If your dump truck or end-dump trailer has been loading at either pit, tell us which one when you get in touch, and send photos of the body, the hoist and the cab.
A truck that still sits in a pit yard up the Shine road is fine where it is. Give us the gate location, a contact who can let us in and the hours the site is open, and we will plan the collection around the operation rather than asking you to move it.
Rock for the peninsula
Rock haulers from the stone quarries west and south of Lofall
Out west, Penny Creek Rock Products is a crushed-stone quarry 11.9 miles from Lofall; the Mine Safety and Health Administration lists Kitsap Quarry, also crushed stone, 17.9 miles to the south. Tri-axle dumps, belly dumps and rock-hauling tractors from either quarry are on our list to purchase.
Before you contact us about a quarry truck, find the VIN plate and note the odometer reading, then gather any scale tickets or site service logs you kept. Those two numbers and a set of clear photos answer most of what we need to ask.
Trucks that work around the two naval bases
Naval Base Kitsap Bangor sits 6.7 miles south-west of Lofall and Naval Base Kitsap - Keyport is 7.9 miles south, according to the Bureau of Transportation Statistics list of military installations. Box trucks, flatbeds and day cabs that run deliveries or contract work onto those installations are trucks we purchase.
If your truck is parked inside a base perimeter, it will need to come out to a civilian address before we can collect it, since we cannot plan access to a secured gate. Tell us where it will be waiting, whether in Lofall itself or along the road toward Poulsbo, and we will arrange pickup there.
Hauling to the rail yard across the sound
The North American Rail Network, kept by the Federal Railroad Administration and the Bureau of Transportation Statistics, places Balmer Yard about 17 miles south-east of Lofall, across the water. A chassis tractor or flatbed that has hauled to and from that yard can be sold to us from whichever side of the sound it now sits on.
Give us the street address where the truck is parked and say whether a tow truck can reach it without trouble. Lofall’s ferry-landing roads, a Seattle yard or a driveway in Poulsbo are all places we can collect from.
A missing title and the Poulsbo licensing agency
Washington titles are issued by the Washington State Department of Licensing, which handles a lost title through its vehicle and vessel licensing offices. The Department of Licensing’s office list puts JRO Licensing Agency, Inc at 19045 State Highway 305 NE Ste 170, Poulsbo, 98370, about 5.2 miles from Lofall.
If the title has gone missing, start the replacement there before you call us, and bring your registration and a photo ID. Should a lender still be named on the title, have the lien release in hand too, so the transfer can go through in one step.
Christmas tree lots and cattle trucks around Lofall
USDA’s 2022 Census of Agriculture counts 570 farms in Kitsap County, which takes in Lofall, and puts cut Christmas trees, short-term woody crops and cattle at the top of the county’s list. Stake-bed trucks used at tree lots and livestock haulers from cattle operations are welcome alongside the gravel and base trucks.
A farm truck registered under farm plates sells the same way as any other: send the title, the registration and photos, and let us know if the truck stays on the property between seasons so we can find it there.
Washington’s clean truck program and an older diesel
The Washington Department of Ecology has paused enforcement of the state’s Advanced Clean Trucks adoption under its Clean Vehicles Program, and enforcement of the Heavy-Duty Low NOx Omnibus standards in WAC 173-423-081 is on hold as well. The department’s updated guidance on those rules and Advanced Clean Cars II is in force.
For a seller in Lofall, those rules govern new trucks offered for sale in Washington; they do not stop you from selling a diesel you already own. Photograph the engine family label along with the rest of the truck; it shows the emissions standard the engine was certified to.
