Railside, east of town
Rocky Point yard, east of town
The North American Rail Network, kept by the Federal Railroad Administration and the Bureau of Transportation Statistics, places a rail yard called Rocky Point 2.3 miles east of Longview Heights, listed a second time as Rocky Point Yard. A tractor that shuttles loads to and from those tracks may well be sitting near the yard on the day we collect it, and that location works for us as well as a home address does.
If your truck is parked by the Rocky Point tracks, send us the cross street and the name of whoever can let us onto the lot. Add the VIN, a photo of the odometer and a clear picture of the title in that same message.
Some Longview Heights owners keep a work truck at home between runs to Rocky Point, others leave it by the tracks. Either spot is fine; just tell us which one the truck will be at.
Two river ports
Port of Longview and Port of Kalama
According to the Bureau of Transportation Statistics, the Port of Longview lies 11.8 miles east of Longview Heights, and the Port of Kalama sits farther out at 20.4 miles. Day cabs and chassis haulers that work dockside at either one are trucks we buy, and we arrange pickup at the terminal gate or at your shop.
A rig that has spent years moving freight off the Longview or Kalama docks usually carries a stack of gate passes, scale tickets and service invoices in the cab. Gather the service records and the registration together, photograph the cab, frame and tires, and send it all in one message.
Should the truck be stuck inside a port lot with restricted access, tell us the terminal name from the start. We will plan collection around the port’s rules, and you do not have to move the truck out first.
Stone, sand, pit run
Portable 4, Rock Quarry and the Mandy Rd Pit
Mine Safety and Health Administration listings put two crushed-stone quarries north-east of town, Portable 4 at 13.3 miles and one simply named Rock Quarry at 16.6 miles. Dump trucks and end-dump tractors that haul crushed stone from sites like these fall within what we purchase.
On the sand and gravel side, the same federal mine safety records show Portable 1 some 14.3 miles west and Mandy Rd Pit 15.5 miles north of Longview Heights. A truck still parked at a pit can be collected right there; send directions to the gate and a contact who will be on site.
For an aggregate hauler, list the body type, the axle setup and anything added to the chassis, such as a pup hitch or a tarp system. Those details, plus the title and registration, answer most of what we would otherwise ask.
Cowlitz livestock haulers
Cattle, goats and hogs in the county
USDA’s 2022 Census of Agriculture counts 361 farms across Cowlitz County, with cattle, goats and hogs at the top of the livestock list. Stock haulers, feed trucks and flatbeds that serve those operations are welcome here, whether they sit in a barnyard or behind a house.
When a farm truck is titled to a ranch or family partnership, check whose name is printed on the title before you contact us. If the title cannot be found, the state’s title agency handles a replacement, and starting that request early keeps the sale moving.
Emission rules a Longview Heights hauler may ask about
Washington’s Clean Vehicles Program adopted California’s Advanced Clean Trucks regulation, and a state guidance publication lists its enforcement as paused. The same Clean Vehicles Program publication shows the Heavy-Duty Low NOx Omnibus medium- and heavy-duty emission standards with enforcement paused as well.
An updated regulatory guidance covering Advanced Clean Cars II, Advanced Clean Trucks and the Low NOx Omnibus is listed by that publication as in force. None of this changes what we need from a Longview Heights seller: the title, the registration, the VIN and a few photos.
