Renton rails and racks
Rail and fuel six miles west
Renton Yard sits 6.2 miles west of Maple Heights-Lake Desire on the North American Rail Network, which the Federal Railroad Administration and the Bureau of Transportation Statistics maintain. A tractor or straight truck that shuttles freight to and from that yard can be collected from your driveway off the lake roads; send us the street address and say whether a long trailer can turn around there.
Just past the yard, a Renton petroleum product terminal appears 6.3 miles west in Energy Information Administration listings. If your tanker or fuel truck loaded at that rack, mention the tank’s compartments and what it hauled, and keep any tank test certificates with the title so we can see them together.
Bulk liquids and boxes
Transload and the South Seattle ramp
Quality Transload Inc, a liquid bulk terminal, lies 6.9 miles west according to the Bureau of Transportation Statistics. Owners of tank trailers or tractors that pulled from Quality Transload can photograph the plate on the trailer and the tractor’s door sticker before reaching out, since those two pictures answer most of our first questions.
Some 9.1 miles west, the South Seattle rail intermodal ramp is another Bureau of Transportation Statistics entry for this area. A day cab used for container drayage off that ramp is a truck we buy; have the VIN, the odometer reading and the registration card on hand when you call.
Gravel and stone around the plateau
Issaquah Pit & Plant, a sand and gravel operation, is 8 miles north-east of town on Mine Safety and Health Administration rolls. Dump trucks and end dumps that haul from Issaquah Pit & Plant often sit at a yard or at the pit between jobs, so tell us exactly where yours is parked and whether the gate is locked.
To the south-east, the Mine Safety and Health Administration also lists a crushed-stone quarry called Portable 1 at 10.2 miles and Franklin Ridge Sand & Gravel at 12.5 miles. A tri-axle or transfer truck tied to those sites can be picked up on location; a few clear photos of the bed, cab and tires sent ahead let us arrange the visit.
Dairy, cattle, nursery
Milk, livestock and foliage haulers
Across King County, 1,604 farms were tallied in USDA’s 2022 Census of Agriculture, and milk led the county’s products ahead of cattle and foliage plants. Milk haulers, cattle trucks and nursery box trucks from those operations are welcome; a farm plate or farm registration is fine, just keep the paperwork that goes with it.
A truck that has spent years on one farm may have its title tucked in a barn office or held by a family member. Find it before we arrange pickup, and if it is missing, the state’s title agency issues a replacement to the registered owner.
Lake Desire workplaces
Local work and Washington’s truck rules
Workplaces in Maple Heights-Lake Desire held 228 jobs in 2023, by the Census Bureau’s LEHD job counts. For a place that size, a truck for sale is often owned by one person who works elsewhere in the county, so your home address is usually where we would meet the truck.
Washington’s Clean Vehicles Program adopted the Advanced Clean Trucks and Heavy-Duty Low NOx Omnibus rules, and a Washington publication lists enforcement of both as paused, with updated regulatory guidance in force. Those rules do not stop you selling a diesel truck you already own; bring the registration and any emissions paperwork you have.
