Tankers by the lake
Loading fuel on the Moses Lake terminal run
The Energy Information Administration lists a petroleum product terminal named MOSES LAKE WA about 4.8 miles south-east of Moses Lake North. A tractor that has pulled tankers out of that terminal is one we collect, and the short run between it and town means the tractor is usually parked within a few minutes of either. Give us the street address where it sits now and a phone number for whoever holds the keys.
If the tank trailer goes with the tractor, say so on the first call and send a photo of each unit’s data plate. Fuel haulers who load at the Moses Lake terminal often keep loading logs and annual inspection sheets in the cab; put those with the title so the paperwork for both units arrives as one set.
Crusher and wash plant loads
Crushers and wash plants on the south side
Two portable crushers, one working crushed stone and one sand and gravel, appear in Mine Safety and Health Administration records 6.7 miles south-east of town. Hiawatha Wash Plant, a sand and gravel operation, sits 8.1 miles to the south-west in the Mine Safety and Health Administration’s listing. Dump trucks and end-dump trailers that cycle between those pits and job sites around the lake are trucks we buy.
A dump truck that still sits on a pit floor can be picked up there, provided the operator lets a hauler through the gate. Tell us which of the three sites it is at, who runs the gate, and what hours it is open. Photograph the box, the hoist and the door plate showing the VIN.
Farther out, the Quincy WA Plant is an industrial-mineral mine 24.6 miles west, also recorded by the Mine Safety and Health Administration. Trucks that ran the road toward Quincy are welcome too; the distance changes nothing about what to send, which is the VIN, the odometer reading and four sides of photos.
Plant jobs, plant trucks
A manufacturing town with a trucking thread
Of the 1,436 jobs counted in Moses Lake North for 2023 by the Census Bureau’s LEHD job counts, 750, or 52.2 percent, were in manufacturing. Box trucks, straight trucks and day cabs that served plant shipping docks fit what we collect, and a plant yard is a fine place for us to meet the truck if the owner arranges access.
Transportation and warehousing held 76 of those jobs, a 5.3 percent share, according to the same LEHD figures, and wholesale trade held 55, or 3.8 percent. If your truck ran wholesale deliveries out of town, keep its registration current and have the name on the title match the seller’s name, since a mismatch is the item that stalls a sale most often.
Dairy and feedlot haulers
Grain, cattle and milk trucks off Grant County farms
Grant County holds 1,238 farms in USDA’s 2022 Census of Agriculture, and the county’s top products there are cattle, then milk, then corn. Grain trucks, cattle haulers and milk tankers that served those operations are part of what we purchase, and many of them sit on the farm between seasons.
A farm truck parked behind a barn or at the edge of a field can stay right there. Send a dropped pin, mention whether the lane is gravel or dirt, and tell us if a gate needs opening. If the truck was registered under a farm name rather than your own, have the paperwork showing who can sign for that farm.
Warden railhead runs
The Warden yard and Washington’s clean truck rules
Out past the lake, the rail yard at Warden lies 19.9 miles south-east of Moses Lake North by the Federal Railroad Administration and Bureau of Transportation Statistics’ North American Rail Network. Trucks that shuttled freight to the railhead there are ones we collect, wherever along that road they now stand.
Washington’s Clean Vehicles Program adopted California’s Advanced Clean Trucks rule and the Heavy-Duty Low NOx Omnibus standards rules, and the state’s Ecology guidance lists enforcement of both as paused. Updated regulatory guidance for those rules is in force, so check that guidance for what applies to your model year before you sell.
