Beside the shipyard
A rail spur and two bases within a mile
Barely a third of a mile east, at 0.3 miles, the BREMERTON NAVAL rail yard shows up on the North American Rail Network that the Federal Railroad Administration and the Bureau of Transportation Statistics keep. If your truck is parked on a street this close to the yard fence, send us the cross streets and a note on where it sits, so the collection can be lined up around rail and gate traffic.
Naval Base Kitsap Bremerton lies 0.9 miles east and NG Bremerton 0.9 miles west, both listed as military installations by the Bureau of Transportation Statistics. A truck stored on or beside either one may need an escort or a pass to reach; tell us who controls access before the pickup is booked, and have that person’s number ready.
Crushed rock off Kitsap Way
Kitsap Quarry beside a second stone plant
Two crushed-stone quarries, Plant 1 to the south-west and Kitsap Quarry to the west, each sit 2.1 miles from town in the Mine Safety and Health Administration’s mine listings. Tandem dumps, end-dumps and belly trailers that load at stone pits like these are trucks we buy; a quarry yard is a fine place for us to meet the truck.
If the truck is still parked inside a quarry gate, ask the site office whether an outside crew may enter, and tell us the hours the gate is open. Send photos of the body, the hoist and the cab with the VIN and the odometer reading when you first get in touch.
Gravel south and north-west
Bethel Pit and the north-west gravel plant
Bethel Pit, a sand and gravel operation 6.6 miles south, and Plant #2, another 6.7 miles north-west, both appear in Mine Safety and Health Administration records. Those two sites bracket the town on opposite sides at nearly the same distance, so a gravel truck based here could be sitting at either end when you are ready to sell.
Tell us which of the two pits the truck last worked from and whether it is still there. A pup trailer or transfer box that goes with it can be sold alongside the truck; list it separately with its own plate and paperwork.
Navy Yard City payrolls
Construction is four in ten local jobs
In 2023 the Census Bureau’s LEHD job counts (LODES) recorded 226 jobs located in Navy Yard City, and 95 of them, a 42 percent share, were in construction. Crew cabs, flatbeds, small dumps and service bodies are the trucks that kind of work keeps on the road, and every one of them is a vehicle we look at.
For a contractor’s truck, gather the title, the current registration and any service records the shop kept. If the truck carries a company decal or a toolbox you want back, take those off before we arrive, and say whether ladders or racks stay with it.
A lost title and the Kitsap Way counter
Washington titles are issued by the Washington State Department of Licensing, which replaces a lost title through its vehicle and vessel licensing offices. The closest one listed by the Department of Licensing is KITSAP AUTO LICENSING - Next to Family Pancake House, at 3850 Kitsap Way Ste 103, Bremerton, 98312, about 1.1 miles from Navy Yard City.
If the title is missing, start the replacement at that Kitsap Way office before the sale and bring photo ID and the VIN. Where a lender is still shown on the title, a lien release from that lender belongs with the rest of the papers; if the truck is in a business name, the person signing should be able to show they act for that business.
Trees, herds and the Seattle rails
Christmas trees, cattle and the Seattle side
Kitsap County had 570 farms in USDA’s 2022 Census of Agriculture, and the leading products listed were cut Christmas trees, cut Christmas trees with short-term woody crops, and cattle. A farm flatbed or a stock truck that hauls trees or animals around Navy Yard City is one we will collect from the field or the barn where it stands.
Across the water, SEATTLE TERMINAL #5 is a rail yard 13.8 miles east on the North American Rail Network maintained by the Federal Railroad Administration and the Bureau of Transportation Statistics. A tractor kept on the Seattle side rather than at home here can be collected where it is parked; give us that address and a contact on that side of the Sound.
Washington adopted California’s Advanced Clean Trucks regulation in its Clean Vehicles Program, and the Department of Ecology’s guidance lists enforcement of it as paused. The Heavy-Duty Low NOx Omnibus standards, WAC 173-423-081, appear in that same Department of Ecology document as paused too.
That Department of Ecology publication also carries updated regulatory guidance for Advanced Clean Cars II, Advanced Clean Trucks and the Low NOx Omnibus, listed as in force. None of it changes what you need for a sale in Navy Yard City: the title, the registration and the keys.
