Gravel trucks from the Amrize and Siper Road sand pits
The Mine Safety and Health Administration lists the Amrize Siper Pit, a sand and gravel operation 3.4 miles south-west of Nooksack, and the Siper Road Pit 3.6 miles to the south-east. A dump truck or end-dump tractor that has hauled from either one is likely parked in a yard close to town, and we collect it from that yard.
Before you call, photograph the bed, the cab, the tires and the VIN plate, and find the registration. If the truck is kept at a pit gate, give us the name of whoever can unlock it on the day we come.
Quarry stone and the Sumas rail yard
IKO Pacific, Inc runs a crushed-stone quarry 5.3 miles north-east of town, according to Mine Safety and Health Administration records. Rock trucks and lowboys that have worked that site can stay where they sit; send us the address and a phone number for the person on site.
Out the same way, SUMAS appears in the North American Rail Network, kept by the Federal Railroad Administration and the Bureau of Transportation Statistics, as a rail yard 5.5 miles north-east. If your tractor has moved freight to or from that yard, tell us the cab type and axle setup, and have the title in hand when we arrange collection.
Cement, fuel and bulk liquid to the south-west and west
Lehigh Northwest Cement Company is a cement plant 14.5 miles south-west, as the Mine Safety and Health Administration lists it, and BELLINGHAM YARD sits 14.3 miles in that direction on the North American Rail Network. Bulk pneumatic tractors and mixers from that corridor qualify; send photos of the trailer coupling and the cab together.
Farther west, the Energy Information Administration places the FERNDALE petroleum product terminal 18.5 miles from Nooksack, and a liquid bulk terminal called Billingham shows up 19.2 miles west in Bureau of Transportation Statistics listings. Keep any tank inspection certificates together with the title of a tanker tractor you sell.
Tankers and stock trailers off the Whatcom dairy farms
Around town the farm trade is milk first, then cattle and corn, and USDA’s 2022 Census of Agriculture counts 1,582 farms across Whatcom County. Milk tankers, livestock haulers and grain trucks that work those farms are trucks we purchase, wherever on the farm they are parked.
A farm truck is often registered in a family or farm name rather than the driver’s. Look at the owner line on the Nooksack farm’s title first; a parent, spouse or partnership named there signs the sale alongside you.
Plant jobs and builders in a small town
Nooksack held 317 jobs in 2023 by the Census Bureau’s LEHD job counts, and that same LODES series puts 81 of them, a 25.6 percent share, in manufacturing. Box trucks and flatbeds that serve those plants count as commercial trucks for us, so give the make, model year and VIN when you get in touch.
Builders are few here: six construction establishments appear for the Nooksack area in the Census Bureau’s County Business Patterns. If a contractor’s dump body or crane truck is sitting idle in a shop lot, the shop address is enough for us to plan a visit.
The licensing counter on Everson’s Main Street
The Washington State Department of Licensing issues titles here through its vehicle and vessel licensing offices. One of them, by the Department of Licensing’s own office list, is VALLEY DRUG LICENSING - Everson Shopping Ctr at 208 E Main St, Everson, 98247, 1.2 miles from Nooksack.
Bring proof of identity and the truck’s VIN to that Everson counter if the title has gone missing, and start the replacement before you call us. A registration card, even an expired one, helps match the VIN to your name.
Washington’s paused heavy-duty engine rules and a Nooksack sale
Washington adopted the Advanced Clean Trucks regulation under its Clean Vehicles Program, and enforcement of it is currently paused. The Heavy-Duty Low NOx Omnibus under WAC 173-423-081 is on hold as well, and the Department of Ecology’s update to regulatory guidance for Advanced Clean Cars II, Advanced Clean Trucks, and Heavy-Duty Low NOx Omnibus rules is in force.
For a Nooksack owner, none of this changes what we ask for: the title, the registration and photos. Mention the engine model year so we know which standard the truck was built to.
