Sell your semi truck for cash in Normandy Park the easy and convenient way

Normandy Park sits in King County with the ORILLIA rail yard and the Quality Transload liquid bulk terminal both just under five miles to its east, and the trucks registered here mostly haul general freight, refuse and lumber.

Selling a truck in Normandy Park? Tell us about it and we'll take it from there.

Fifteen carriers on a small shoreline town

General freight is the commonest cargo line here: 11 Normandy Park outfits claim it, out of the 15 active ones FMCSA’s carrier census places in town, beside 3 refuse haulers and 2 lumber haulers. If your box truck or tractor came out of one of those general freight operations, have the title and current registration in hand before you call, since those two papers settle who can sign for it.

Three of those registered carriers haul garbage, refuse and trash, two move logs, poles, beams and lumber, and one carries refrigerated food, according to the same federal census. A packer, a log truck or a reefer unit from town is the kind of equipment we purchase; send photos of the body as well as the cab so we can see what is mounted behind it.

Nine of the 15 run as private fleets, hauling their own goods, and FMCSA lists 12 as intrastate against 3 that cross state lines. For a truck that stayed inside Washington its whole working life, the Washington registration and any service records kept at the yard are what we will ask to see.

Operator scale

One mid-sized operator and a few one-truck outfits

The biggest fleet on file with the federal carrier census here runs 21 power units and 42 drivers, while the next two run two trucks and one. Selling several units from a fleet like that is handled one VIN at a time, so a list of VINs, unit numbers and where each one is parked lets us plan the collection.

Counting drivers, FMCSA records 20 who work within 100 miles of home and 46 who go beyond that radius. If your truck is out on a longer route when you decide to sell, tell us where it will be parked next; we can collect it there rather than in Normandy Park.

New registrations have been steady but thin: the carrier census logs one new carrier in 2024 and one in 2025. An owner-operator who started recently and is now stepping away needs the title, or the lender’s payoff letter if the truck is still financed, before the sale can close.

Yards and ramps east and north of town

The North American Rail Network, kept by the Federal Railroad Administration and the Bureau of Transportation Statistics, places the ORILLIA rail yard 4.9 miles east and the VAN ASSELT yard 6.3 miles north-east of town. A day cab that shuttles boxes or loads to those yards may be parked near them rather than at home; give us the lot address and a contact who can open the gate.

South Seattle’s rail intermodal ramp lies 5.4 miles to the north-east on Bureau of Transportation Statistics listings, and Terminal 115 at the Port of Seattle, a roll-on/roll-off terminal with its own intermodal ramp, is 7.5 miles north. Container chassis work around those ramps leaves records of where the tractor ran; keep any you have with the title.

At 4.9 miles east, the Bureau of Transportation Statistics lists Quality Transload Inc as a liquid bulk terminal, and the Energy Information Administration places a petroleum product terminal at Renton 5.9 miles east. If your tanker or tank tractor served those sites, tell us what it hauled and send photos of the tank and its fittings along with the cab.

CalPortland’s gravel pit past the town line

Five miles south-west, the Mine Safety and Health Administration lists VASHON SAND AND GRAVEL, doing business as CalPortland, as a sand and gravel operation. Dump trucks, transfer trailers and mixers that work an operation like that are equipment we purchase, wherever they happen to be parked.

If your dump truck sits at or near that operation, we collect it there and you never bring it into Normandy Park. Have the site contact’s name ready and tell us whether the truck can be reached from a paved road.

Normandy Park payrolls and King County dairies

For 2023, the Census Bureau’s LEHD job counts tally 864 positions located inside Normandy Park. If your truck is parked at home between those jobs, a driveway or street address is all we need to arrange the pickup.

King County holds 1,604 farms in USDA’s 2022 Census of Agriculture, and milk, cattle and foliage plants top its list of products. A stake bed, livestock hauler or milk tanker from one of those county farms can be sold from the farm itself; have the title and photos of the body ready when you reach us.

Low NOx, Advanced Clean Trucks and a Normandy Park sale

Washington’s Department of Ecology publication on its Clean Vehicles Program records enforcement of the Advanced Clean Trucks rule as paused, and the Heavy-Duty Low NOx Omnibus standards under WAC 173-423-081 as paused too. Neither stops you selling a diesel tractor registered in Normandy Park today.

The same Ecology document lists updated regulatory guidance for Advanced Clean Cars II, Advanced Clean Trucks and the Low NOx Omnibus as in force. If you hold any emissions paperwork for your truck, include it with the title and registration so the file we receive is complete.

The questions we get asked in Normandy Park

  • My tractor sits on a lot beside ORILLIA, east of town; can it be collected there?ORILLIA sits 4.9 miles east of town on the North American Rail Network, and we collect from that yard where the truck already is. Tell us who controls the lot so the gate is open on collection day.
  • Would you take a packer truck off a Normandy Park refuse route?Three Normandy Park carriers registered with FMCSA haul garbage, refuse and trash, and packer trucks like theirs are on our list. Send the VIN, photos of the body and the title details to start.
  • The Washington title for my Normandy Park truck has gone missing; where is a replacement issued? With 12 of the 15 carriers in town running intrastate on FMCSA’s census, most trucks here carry a Washington title, and a replacement comes from the state’s title agency. Request it there before the sale, and tell us when you contact us that a duplicate is on the way.
  • With Advanced Clean Trucks enforcement on hold in Washington, can a Normandy Park diesel still be sold?Washington’s Department of Ecology lists enforcement of Advanced Clean Trucks as paused, and the sale of a registered diesel truck goes ahead as usual. Bring the title, registration and any emissions records you have.
