Trucks parked between the Bremerton yards and Manchester
The Bureau of Transportation Statistics places Naval Base Kitsap Bremerton 2.9 miles north-west of Parkwood, with the Manchester installation 3.9 miles to the north-east. If your truck is parked on or beside either one, tell us before pickup who can sign us through the gate, so the visit is booked with the right person and not turned back at the entrance.
Bremerton Naval, a rail yard listed by the North American Rail Network of the Federal Railroad Administration and the Bureau of Transportation Statistics, lies 3.2 miles north-west. A tractor or box truck that has shuttled loads to that yard can be sold from the lot where it now stands; send its address, a photo of the VIN plate and one of the odometer, and we plan the collection from there.
Kitsap Quarry, Bethel Pit and the rock trucks west of town
Two crushed-stone quarries appear in Mine Safety and Health Administration records due west of town: Plant 1 at 4.2 miles and Kitsap Quarry at 5.2 miles. Owners of end dumps, belly dumps or tandem dump trucks that haul from those faces should photograph the bed, hoist and both sides of the chassis, and keep the title in hand for the day we arrive.
South-west, the Mine Safety and Health Administration also lists Bethel Pit, a sand and gravel operation 4.7 miles out, and Airport Pit at 7.1 miles. A truck still sitting at one of those pits does not need to be driven back into Parkwood. Give us the pit name, the gate hours and a phone number for whoever runs the scale house, and we come to it there.
Parkwood builders and the trucks on their crews
Construction held 148 of Parkwood’s 888 workplace jobs in 2023, or 16.7 percent, by the Census Bureau’s LEHD job counts. Contractors running a pickup with a dump insert, a stake bed or a small crane truck can list each of those for us in one message; sending the VIN for every unit lets us answer about the whole group at once.
Whether you hold one of those 148 construction jobs LEHD records or run the crew, say where the truck spends its nights. Tell us whether the truck is in a driveway, a shop bay or on a job site, and whether a trailer stays hitched, so the person collecting it brings the right equipment.
Christmas tree farms and cattle across Kitsap County
USDA’s 2022 Census of Agriculture counts 570 farms in Kitsap County, and cut Christmas trees head its list of top commodities, ahead of cattle. A stake truck or flatbed that carries cut trees every winter is a truck we purchase whether it is busy or parked for the off-season; send a photo of the deck and the registration.
Cattle, the third item on that USDA list, means livestock haulers and farm tractors pulling stock trailers on county roads. If yours is kept on a farm lot outside Parkwood, describe how to reach it, including any gate or soft ground, and we route the pickup accordingly.
Two rules on hold, and what a Parkwood seller brings
A publication from the state’s Department of Ecology lists enforcement as paused for two rules: Advanced Clean Trucks, adopted through the state’s Clean Vehicles Program, and the heavy-duty low-NOx Omnibus standards in WAC 173-423-081.
Guidance updating those rules is in force in the same publication, so check it if a rule question touches your plans. For the sale itself we ask a Parkwood seller for a title in their name, the current registration and any service records, with photos of the cab, the engine bay and the tires.
Seattle’s rail terminal and trucks that cross the Sound
The North American Rail Network shows Seattle Terminal #5, a rail yard 11.6 miles east of Parkwood across Puget Sound. Drayage tractors that move containers between Kitsap and that terminal are part of what we buy; tell us which side of the water the truck is parked on right now.
If you live in Parkwood but the tractor sits on a Seattle lot, the sale can still run from home. Email the title, the address of the lot and the name of someone with access, and we collect it from where it is.
The questions we get asked in Parkwood
- Our tandem dump is still at Bethel Pit off the Kitsap gravel roads. Has it got to come back to Parkwood for the sale?Bethel Pit sits 4.7 miles south-west of Parkwood on Mine Safety and Health Administration listings, and we collect from the pit itself. Pass along the pit’s gate hours and the scale-house phone number.
- My box truck sits by the Bremerton naval base gate. Could your driver load it beside the Bremerton naval fence line?Naval Base Kitsap Bremerton is 2.9 miles north-west of town according to the Bureau of Transportation Statistics, and a truck parked near it is collected where it stands. Tell us who can escort us through any gate.
- I haul Christmas trees only in season. Will you buy a truck that sits most of the year?Kitsap County’s 570 farms, per USDA’s 2022 Census of Agriculture, list cut Christmas trees first, and seasonal tree trucks are among those we buy. Send the title, registration and photos of the deck.
