Two petroleum terminals a few miles east
The Energy Information Administration places the SPOKANE petroleum product terminal 2.9 miles east of Town and Country and the HILLYARD terminal 3.6 miles to the south-east. A tractor that has pulled fuel tankers between those two racks and the stations around Spokane is one we collect; tell us whether the tank trailer goes with it or stays behind.
For a fuel tractor, keep the registration and any hazmat inspection sheets in the cab before pickup. If the truck sits inside a terminal lot rather than at your home, give us the gate contact so we can reach it without a second trip.
Hillyard drayage
SI yards and the Spokane, WA intermodal ramp
Two yards listed in the North American Rail Network, SI YARD and SI, lie 4.9 and 5 miles south-east, and the Bureau of Transportation Statistics records the Spokane, WA intermodal ramp at 6 miles in the same direction. Day cabs that shuttle boxes off that ramp are exactly the kind of tractor we buy from owner-operators on the north side.
Before we talk, find the VIN on the door jamb and photograph the odometer, the fifth wheel and both sides of the cab. Those shots, sent with the title, answer most of what we would otherwise ask about a drayage tractor from around the Hillyard yards.
Gravel pits east and south-west of town
Mine Safety and Health Administration listings put the Sullivan Road Facility 11.2 miles east and Wash Plant #1 12.2 miles south-west, both sand and gravel operations. Dump trucks, belly dumps and transfer rigs that haul aggregate out of those sites are welcome here.
A gravel truck often stays parked at the pit between jobs. If yours sits at Sullivan Road or at the south-west wash plant, send the address and the name of whoever controls the yard, and we arrange collection there instead of asking you to move it.
Town and Country payrolls
Who works in Town and Country
The Census Bureau’s LEHD job counts for 2023 show 1,424 jobs located in Town and Country, of which 72, or 5.1 percent, are in construction. Contractors here commonly run a single dump truck, a flatbed or a service body, and any of those can be sold to us one at a time.
If the truck is titled to a small contracting business rather than to you personally, have whoever signs for the business ready to sign the title. A missing title is replaced through Washington’s title agency before the sale, not afterwards.
Wheat and cattle across Spokane County
According to USDA’s 2022 Census of Agriculture, Spokane County holds 2,386 farms, and wheat, cattle and equine lead its farm products. Grain trucks, cattle haulers and horse-trailer tow rigs from those operations fit what we purchase.
A farm truck still needs its title in the seller’s name. Tell us which field, barn or shop the truck is parked at out in the county, and whether a loaded grain box or stock trailer is attached.
Paused clean truck enforcement in Washington
The Washington Department of Ecology’s guidance lists enforcement of the Advanced Clean Trucks rule and the Heavy-Duty Low NOx Omnibus under WAC 173-423-081 as paused. Its updated regulatory guidance covering those rules and Advanced Clean Cars II is the version currently in force.
Neither paused rule stops a diesel tractor from being sold and collected in Spokane County today. Give us the engine model year from the emissions label under the hood so the paperwork matches the truck.
The questions we get asked in Town and Country
- The tanker tractor stays parked by the HILLYARD rack south-east of Town and Country - must I move it?The Energy Information Administration places the HILLYARD terminal 3.6 miles south-east of Town and Country, close enough that we collect right where the tractor sits. Name the person who unlocks that lot for us.
- The title for a wheat hauler from a Spokane County farm has gone missing - what now?Spokane County has 2,386 farms by USDA’s 2022 Census of Agriculture, and a grain truck from any of them gets a replacement title through Washington’s title agency. Request the duplicate there, then contact us.
- Do you take dump trucks that work the Sullivan Road pit?Sullivan Road Facility, 11.2 miles east per the Mine Safety and Health Administration, is one of the sand and gravel sites we collect from. Send photos and the VIN and we arrange the rest.
