Ro-ro cargo and containers on the port
The Bureau of Transportation Statistics lists the Port of Seattle’s Terminal 115 as a roll-on/roll-off terminal 2.3 miles north of White Center. A tractor that has shuttled vehicles or rolling cargo off that dock is one we collect, and it can stay in a White Center driveway or yard for pickup. Send the VIN, the registration and a few photos of the cab and chassis so we know which unit we are coming for.
T-115 also appears in Bureau of Transportation Statistics records as a rail intermodal ramp at the same 2.3-mile distance. Day cabs that dray boxes between that ramp and nearby warehouses fit what we buy. If yours spends nights at the terminal gate rather than at home, tell us who controls access so the collection can be set up with them.
Van Asselt and ARGO Yard
Two Van Asselt rail yards show up on the North American Rail Network, one 2.9 miles east of White Center and one 3.2 miles to the north-east. Trucks that load and unload at yards like these often finish the shift parked near the yard rather than in town. Give us the street address where the truck sits and the name of whoever holds the keys.
Head 3.7 miles north of White Center and you reach ARGO Yard, which the Bureau of Transportation Statistics records as a rail intermodal ramp. For a container chassis tractor that has worked out of ARGO, the clean Washington title in your name is the first thing we ask for; if the title is lost, say so at the start and we will tell you what replacement paperwork the state needs before pickup.
Quarry, cement and fuel to the north
The Mine Safety and Health Administration records Arcosa Specialty Materials Seattle #1890, a crushed-stone quarry, 3.1 miles north, and a cement plant called Seattle Plant at 4 miles. Dump trucks and mixers that haul from those two sites are part of what we purchase. Keep any service records or annual inspection sheets in the cab; they help us confirm the truck’s specification without guesswork.
Harbor Island, 4.9 miles north, holds a petroleum product terminal listed by the Energy Information Administration. If you have a fuel tanker tractor based near Harbor Island, tell us what it pulled and whether the trailer is part of the sale, and send separate photos of each unit.
Construction and manufacturing work
LEHD job counts from the Census Bureau put 2,307 jobs in White Center in 2023, with 156 of them, or 6.8 percent, in construction. A contractor’s pickup-sized box truck or a small dump that has worked those job sites fits what we collect; have the title and the current registration on hand when you do.
Manufacturing accounts for 68 jobs, a 2.9 percent share, in the same 2023 Census Bureau LEHD release. Delivery straight trucks tied to those shops are another kind of vehicle we collect, from the business lot or from the owner’s home, whichever is simpler for you.
Milk and nursery stock
Dairy, cattle and nursery hauling
USDA’s 2022 Census of Agriculture counts 1,604 farms in King County, and milk, cattle and foliage plants lead its list of top products. Milk tankers, livestock haulers and nursery trucks that serve those farms are vehicles we buy.
A milk tanker or nursery truck from a King County farm is sometimes registered under the farm’s name instead of yours. Check whose name is on the Washington title before you contact us, and if it is the farm’s, have the person who can sign for the farm ready to do so.
Paused and in-force rules for White Center trucks
Washington’s Department of Ecology publication 2514036 lists enforcement of Advanced Clean Trucks, adopted through the state’s Clean Vehicles Program, as paused. Washington’s Department of Ecology also shows the Heavy-Duty Low NOx Omnibus standards for medium- and heavy-duty vehicles paused in that same publication.
Ecology’s updated regulatory guidance for those rules, which also covers Advanced Clean Cars II, is listed in that document as in force. If you have questions about how these rules touch your truck, send us its model year and engine details and we will look at it with you.
