Ramps past Lake Washington
Seattle’s intermodal ramps, seven miles from the peninsula
Terminal 30 (T-30) lies 6.9 miles south-west of Yarrow Point, and the Bureau of Transportation Statistics lists it as a rail intermodal ramp; Seattle International Gateway (SIG) is the second ramp it names, at 7.2 miles in the same direction. A day cab that shuttles containers between those two gates and Eastside driveways is a truck we buy, and it can stay parked at a Yarrow Point address while we arrange collection.
Two rail yards called COACH and COACH YARD appear on the North American Rail Network, kept by the Federal Railroad Administration and the Bureau of Transportation Statistics, at 6.6 and 6.8 miles south-west. If your tractor has worked around those yards, write down which ramps and yards it served and send that with clear photos of the cab, frame and fifth wheel.
Harbor Island racks
Tankers that load at Harbor Island and the Shell terminal
According to the Energy Information Administration, SHELL SEATTLE TERMINAL is a petroleum product terminal 7.5 miles south-west of town, with HARBOR ISLAND a tenth of a mile beyond it at 7.6. Tank trucks and tractors that pull fuel trailers from those racks are part of what we purchase from Yarrow Point owners.
For a fuel hauler, keep the registration, any terminal loading records and the last inspection sheets together in the cab. Tell us whether the tank or trailer goes with the sale or stays behind, so the collection plan covers exactly what is leaving the peninsula.
Cement and quarry stone
Mixers and dump trucks on the Seattle Plant run
Seattle Plant, a cement plant on the Mine Safety and Health Administration’s list, is 7.8 miles south-west of Yarrow Point. Arcosa Specialty Materials Seattle #1890, a crushed-stone quarry, sits a little further out at 8.4 miles in the Mine Safety and Health Administration’s records.
Ready-mix trucks, bulk cement tankers and dump trucks that carry stone from those two sites are welcome sales here. Give us the VIN, the body type and the axle setup first, then photos taken in daylight; that is enough for us to start.
A lost title goes to Eastside Auto Licensing, three miles north
The Washington State Department of Licensing issues and replaces titles through its vehicle and vessel licensing offices, and the closest one to Yarrow Point is EASTSIDE AUTO LICENSING at 8244 122nd Ave NE, Kirkland, 98033, about 3 miles away by the department’s own office list.
If the title for your truck is missing, start the replacement there before we collect. Bring the registration and your identification, and if a lender is still on the title, have the lien release in hand as well.
Milk, cattle and foliage plants around the Eastside
Across King County, 1,604 farms were counted in USDA’s 2022 Census of Agriculture, with milk, cattle and foliage plants topping the sales list. Yarrow Point itself is residential, so a farm truck from elsewhere in the county may be the one you want to sell.
Livestock haulers, milk tankers and box trucks that move nursery stock all fit what we take. Tell us the farm road or yard where it is kept, and whether a trailer is attached.
Washington’s clean truck standards, on hold for now
Washington adopted California’s advanced clean trucks regulation in its Clean Vehicles Program, and the Department of Ecology’s guidance shows that enforcement is currently paused. The Department of Ecology’s same notice pauses the state’s medium- and heavy-duty engine emission standards under WAC 173-423-081.
For a Yarrow Point owner, the useful step is to keep the engine label and emissions paperwork with the truck. Ecology’s updated guidance for those rules is in force, and having the engine details ready answers the first questions we ask.
The questions we get asked in Yarrow Point
- Do you collect from a home driveway on Yarrow Point?Yarrow Point is a short peninsula of homes, and a truck parked in a driveway or on a side street there is one we can collect. Send the address and note any gate or tight turn.
- Which licensing office serves Yarrow Point owners missing a title?EASTSIDE AUTO LICENSING at 8244 122nd Ave NE, Kirkland, about 3 miles away, is a Washington State Department of Licensing vehicle and vessel licensing office that handles title replacement.
- Will you buy a truck that works the Seattle rail ramps?Terminal 30 and Seattle International Gateway, both under 7.5 miles south-west by the Bureau of Transportation Statistics, are ramps whose drayage tractors we buy, wherever the truck happens to be parked.
