Chino workings
Chino’s two mine listings, under six miles out
The Mine Safety and Health Administration lists Chino Mines Co Mine, a metal mine, 3.8 miles east of Santa Clara, and a second entry called Chino Mine 5.8 miles to the north-east. If your truck has hauled ore, supplies or crews between those gates and town, tell us which site it served and send the VIN with your first message.
A truck parked at a contractor yard near the Chino workings can stay there; we arrange collection at that spot. Let us know whether a gate pass or site escort is needed to reach it, and who on site can open the yard on the day.
Pits toward the south
Gravel, crushed stone and the dump trucks that carry them
Heading south, a sand and gravel operation logged as Portable Plant sits 4.2 miles from Santa Clara, and Limestone Quarry/Fabtec 3, a crushed-stone quarry, is 4.8 miles out, both according to the Mine Safety and Health Administration. If you own a tandem dump, a belly dump or a tractor that has hauled stone out of either pit, we buy it.
For a truck that has worked aggregate, photograph the body, the hoist, the cab and the plate on the door, and note the axle setup. Send those pictures with a photo of the title, and keep the originals in the cab for collection day.
Lost titles go through Silver City’s MVD counter
The New Mexico Motor Vehicle Division handles vehicle titles, and its nearest location is NM MVD Field Office - Silver City at 1876 E, US Hwy 180, Silver City, 88061, 6.4 miles from Santa Clara. If the title is lost or still lists a lienholder, that office is where a duplicate or an updated copy is requested.
Before you call us, find the title and check that the name on it matches yours exactly. Keep the registration and any service records together with it; a truck sold by a business also needs someone with authority to sign for that business.
Cattle, goats and horses across the county
Around Santa Clara and through Grant County, USDA’s 2022 Census of Agriculture counts 334 farms, with cattle, goats and equine operations at the top of the list. Ranch trucks, flatbeds and livestock haulers come out of that kind of country, and they are trucks we buy.
If yours sits on a ranch off a dirt road, give us directions in plain words, mention any cattle guards or locked gates, and say whether a tow truck can turn around near it. A pin dropped on a phone map helps more than an address for a lot of these places.
A small job base and owner-held work trucks
Some 322 jobs were located in Santa Clara in 2023, by the Census Bureau’s LEHD job counts (LODES). In a town that size, a work truck is often owned by one person or a small outfit rather than a big fleet, and the owner is usually the one who can answer every question about it.
That makes the sale simple: one owner, one title, one set of keys. Have the odometer reading, the engine make and the VIN ready, and we can talk through the rest of the truck in one conversation.
New Mexico’s clean truck regulations in force
On the New Mexico state register, Advanced Clean Trucks, the zero-emission requirement for medium- and heavy-duty vehicles, is listed as in force. The same register carries Heavy-Duty Omnibus, the exhaust emission standards for heavy-duty engines, and that rule is in force as well.
For a Santa Clara owner selling a diesel truck already titled and registered, the sale itself goes ahead the usual way. Tell us the engine model year, since that is the figure these state rules are written around.
