Tome Pit and Orona, a few miles either side
Tome Pit, a sand and gravel operation listed by the Mine Safety and Health Administration, lies 3.5 miles south of town. A tandem dump or end-dump tractor that loads there may still be sitting near the pit when you call us, and that is fine: give us the gate details and the name of whoever controls the yard, and we can arrange to collect it on site.
Orona, another sand and gravel site on the Mine Safety and Health Administration’s list, is 4.2 miles north-east of Tome. If your truck hauled out of Orona, send the VIN, a clear shot of the title and photos of the bed, the frame rails and the tires from all four corners, so what we see lines up with what you tell us about the truck.
Quarry and mine traffic on the valley’s north side
Ten miles north-west, Mountain States Crusher GCP 3164 appears as a crushed-stone quarry in Mine Safety and Health Administration listings. Mixers, belly-dump trailers and the tractors that pull them are the equipment that work that kind of site, and we purchase each of them, whether the tractor and trailer come together or separately.
Los Padillas Pit, an industrial-mineral mine 15.2 miles north of Tome according to the Mine Safety and Health Administration, adds one more stop on the route toward Albuquerque. If your rig is kept at Los Padillas rather than at home, tell us which location it sits at; the paperwork can be handled from your kitchen table while the truck stays put.
Across the river at Belen
Belen’s yard and the intermodal ramp up the valley
Across the Rio Grande, the Belen rail yard is 6.9 miles south-west of Tome on the North American Rail Network kept by the Federal Railroad Administration and the Bureau of Transportation Statistics. Day cabs that shuttle trailers to and from that yard belong on our list, and the registration card plus the VIN plate photo are the two items to gather first.
Further up, Albuquerque’s rail intermodal ramp sits 21.7 miles north, per the Bureau of Transportation Statistics. For a sleeper or day cab that has pulled containers off that ramp, note the trailer type it usually ran with and say whether the chassis goes with the tractor.
Two petroleum terminals on Albuquerque’s south end
The Energy Information Administration lists two petroleum product terminals north of Tome, one at 17.6 miles and the other at 17.8. Tank trucks and fuel tractors loading at those racks often run with carrier placards and hazmat records; keep the tank’s test papers with the title, since they belong to the truck’s history.
A fuel tanker based in Tome but parked near those Albuquerque terminals does not have to be driven home before you sell. Give us the street address, a phone number for whoever can open the lot, and a photo of the odometer, and the pickup is planned around where it is.
Horses, nursery plants and tomatoes around Tome
Valencia County holds 978 farms in USDA’s 2022 Census of Agriculture, and that survey ranks equine first among them, followed by potted flowering plants and tomatoes. Stock trailers, flatbeds and straight trucks that move horses, nursery stock or produce along the valley are all equipment we buy.
For a farm truck, ownership sometimes sits in a family member’s name or in the name of the farm itself. Check the name printed on the title before you contact us; whoever is listed there signs it over.
Los Lunas MVD
The New Mexico Motor Vehicle Division issues titles through its MVD field offices, and the nearest is NM MVD Field Office - Los Lunas at 1204 MAIN ST NE ste A, Los Lunas, 87031, 4.7 miles from Tome by the agency’s own office map. A lost title is replaced there; start that request before you list the truck.
New Mexico has Advanced Clean Trucks, its medium- and heavy-duty zero-emission vehicle requirement, and Heavy-Duty Omnibus, its exhaust emission standards for heavy-duty engines, both in force. Both apply to new vehicles and engines; a diesel truck you already own here is sold with the same title and registration it carries today.
