Carriers on Frisco’s books
FMCSA’s carrier census shows 648 active carriers based in Frisco, with 358 working intrastate and 286 running interstate. If your truck stayed inside Texas, have its Texas registration to hand; if it crossed state lines, bring whatever interstate paperwork is still in the cab so we can match the authority to the vehicle.
Of those Frisco carriers, 105 are private fleets hauling their own goods, according to the same FMCSA census. A company that owns trucks for its own deliveries can sell one or several to us, and the title owner named on each certificate is the person or business that signs.
New registrations keep arriving: FMCSA lists 68 carriers that started up in Frisco in 2025 and 65 in 2024. An operator who bought a tractor recently and is now stepping away should keep the purchase papers and the title together in one envelope for the sale.
Paper, beverages and household moves
General freight is the cargo listed by 494 Frisco carriers in the FMCSA census, so dry vans and the tractors that pull them make up much of what is registered in town. Send us the VIN, a photo of the door plate and the title, and we can start from there.
Paper products appear on 101 local carrier filings and beverages on 83, the FMCSA census records. Box trucks and route tractors built for those loads are on the list of what we purchase; photograph the body or trailer as well as the cab so we see the full unit.
Household goods movers number 90 among Frisco carriers, per FMCSA. Moving vans and straight trucks with lift gates are welcome; note the body length and the gate type when you get in touch, since those two details shape how the pickup is planned.
How old and how far
Across 671 trucks checked at the roadside between August 2024 and August 2026, FMCSA roadside inspection records put the median model year at 2019, with 34.4 percent of them ten or more years old. Whatever year your truck is, give us the model year and engine details from the door plate or title.
Among 137 carriers reporting mileage, FMCSA’s census gives a median of 44,000 miles per truck a year. Read the odometer before you call and take a photo of the dash, which settles the figure without anyone needing to visit first.
Drivers based in Frisco carriers split two ways in FMCSA’s census: 2,948 stay within 100 miles and 2,235 go farther. A truck that works the long runs may be parked away from Collin County when you decide to sell, and we collect it from wherever it stands.
Pits and rail
Sand, gravel and the Carrollton yards
The Mine Safety and Health Administration lists Denton Sand Farm 11.8 miles north-west of Frisco and B & B Sand & Gravel 13.4 miles out in the same direction, with Denton Pits, an industrial-mineral mine, 18.3 miles west. Dump trucks and end-dump tractors that cycle to those pits can be collected at the pit gate or at your yard; tell us who controls access.
Two rail yards named Carrollton sit 14.3 miles south and 14.6 miles south-west, according to the North American Rail Network kept by the Federal Railroad Administration and the Bureau of Transportation Statistics. Out to the south-east, the Wylie intermodal ramp lies 20.2 miles away on Bureau of Transportation Statistics records. If your tractor drayed containers between these, the VIN and the title are the two things to have ready.
Tankers loading at Southlake and Irving racks
The Energy Information Administration places a petroleum product terminal at Southlake, 19 miles south-west of Frisco, and another at Irving, 22.9 miles south. Tankers and the tractors that pull them out of those racks belong on our purchase list; tell us the tank’s capacity and compartment count along with the photos.
Any inspection certificates for a tank trailer that loaded at Southlake or Irving should travel with the sale. Keep them in one folder with the title and registration so nothing gets left behind on the day we collect.
Building, wholesale and Collin County farms
The Census Bureau’s LEHD job counts record 100,202 jobs in Frisco in 2023, including 4,076 in wholesale trade, 3,619 in construction and 1,576 in transportation and warehousing. County Business Patterns from the Census Bureau adds 295 construction establishments and 5 warehousing ones. Flatbeds, dump trucks and delivery straight trucks from these trades can be sold one at a time or as a group.
Collin County held 2,330 farms in USDA’s 2022 Census of Agriculture, with cattle, wheat and corn at the top. Livestock haulers and grain trucks parked on a farm can stay where they are for collection; give us directions to the gate and a phone number for whoever is on site.
The National Bridge Inventory from the Federal Highway Administration counts 175 bridges in Frisco, none load-posted and none under 14 feet of clearance. Pass along the route in from the main road anyway, so the recovery truck reaches your rig without surprises.
The questions we get asked in Frisco
- My dump truck sits at a pit near Denton, so must it come to Frisco first? The truck can stay at the pit: Denton Sand Farm is 11.8 miles north-west of Frisco on Mine Safety and Health Administration listings, and we collect from the pit or yard where the truck sits once you tell us who opens the gate.
- Our Frisco private fleet has several trucks to let go; can they go in one sale? One sale can cover the whole group; FMCSA’s carrier census lists 105 private fleets in Frisco, and any of them can sell one truck or a group; have each title and registration ready, signed by the owner named on it.
- My household goods van still carries its moving company lettering; does that matter?Lettering stays on. FMCSA counts 90 household goods carriers in Frisco, and lettered moving vans are fine to sell; send photos of both sides and the rear along with the title.
