Corpus Christi is the port at the end of the Eagle Ford and the cotton country, and its trucks belong to both. After general freight the cargoes its carriers declare most are machinery and oilfield equipment, Nueces County plants a hundred thousand acres each of cotton and sorghum, and five in six of the carriers based here work Texas only. Harbor Island, the Eagle Ford terminals and the port's Northside and Southside docks fill the tankers and the flatbeds.
