About Mitsubishi Fuso in North America
Mitsubishi Fuso Truck and Bus Corporation (MFTBC) is a Japanese commercial vehicle manufacturer that has been part of Daimler AG (now Daimler Truck AG) since 2003, when Daimler acquired a controlling stake. MFTBC operates manufacturing plants in Kawasaki, Japan and Tramagal, Portugal. Mitsubishi Fuso Truck of America, Inc. (MFTA) has distributed Fuso trucks in the United States since 1985.
On May 27, 2020, Mitsubishi Fuso Truck of America announced the cessation of diesel FE and FG sales in the United States and Canada β a significant withdrawal from the North American cab-over market that Fuso had served for 35 years. Gas-powered FE models continued briefly after the diesel discontinuation. New Fuso trucks are now sold in North America primarily through the RIZON Trucks brand for electric models. A legacy parts and service network remains in place for the large installed base of used Fuso trucks throughout the country.
